As I heard about the Sony’s plan to degrade its 90NM CELL processor down to 65NM CELL, I got a bit confused and because Microsoft has also same plans in the Q1, 2007. Definitely the strategy behind bringing the 65NM CELL chip to the PS3 is same as by Microsoft i.e. the top most plus point of brining the new chip is cost reduction and secondly heat reduction.
Advantages:
• Cost reduction
• Heat reduction
• Size contraction
I think Sony is preparing for European PS3 launch day as it wants to make its much anticipated Euro launch day more spicy!
