Known for its Walkman and music phones, Sony Ericsson is planning to enter in the arena of gaming mobile phones. Sony Ericsson will unveil its first gaming phone at the Mobility World Congress.
The Mobile Entertainment stated that Sony Ecrisson will introduce a gaming phone in February, featured with games-oriented user interface and motion sensitivity, which allows users to play a game like Wii on their handsets. There is a feverish speculation that Sony is working on a PlayStation-branded phone.

Sony Ericsson’s gaming guru Peter Ahnegard stated that Smartphones like the W960, P1 and associated families have hardware acceleration and OpenGL ES and are capable of providing gaming experiences on a level similar to PSP, certainly somewhere between PS1 and PS2.
Now, mobile phones are taking duties of digital camera, MP3 player but still gaming is dominated by handhelds like Sony PSP and Nintendo DS. Firstly, Nokia was the one who attempted the first to integrate gaming into its phones with the N-gage. Nokia is bringing another device in this November but this time Nokia is focusing on software rather than hardware
