It’s confirmed, Sony will launch PS3 consoles with 60GB/HDMI. The 60GB PlayStation 3s will cost $599 and will come with HDMI high-definition video output.
Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian says:
The other one, which sports a 20GB hard drive, would be come for $499.The split between premium (60GB) and core (20GB) units at US retail stores should be roughly 80/20 [percent]...
Sony is providing 74,000 more, that is 400,000 units during the US Play Station 3 launch. In addition, Sony wants to arrange another 800,000 units at the end of the year (1.2 million units within this year) while it is planning another 1.2 million units for Japan.
